this speed is actully not possible with BSNL coz they havnt got this technology... BSNL even dont have T3 so we can not think about this...

bro its better if you check it on speedtest.net and then post the result here...

MTNL can support upto 12 MBPS, so I think its d same with BSNL.
Basically d thing is SNR margin and speed are inversely proportional, i.e. one increases other decreases.
So when my DS was syncd @ 2048 kbps, SNR margin was 28~32.
When they added extra BW for triple play, my SNR is reduced.
For 6149 kbps BW, my SNR is 12~22.
For 256UL subscribers, SNR can be as high as 45
So for a stable connection, minimum of 7 SNR is needed otherwise modem reboots automatically w/o user's consent.

And one thing with BSNL, as it provides connection to remote areas from NIB servers in most of cases, LINE ATT increases too much as telephone line length increases, so if anyone is getting more than 30 SNR and less than 40 ATT on 2048 kbps, he is eligible for 8 mbps connection.

I hope it'll clear doubts of all BSNL users who r desperate over 8 mbos connection.

i thing i would like to add to above information is that for most practical situations SNR must be above 10 for a smooth connection.a good modem may work even at a value 9 but usually any value below 10 will result in frequent disconnections.

technically its 7, but SNR generally fluctuates, 7 is lower limit.
So for a stable connection, minimum of 10, SNR must be atleast in tolearance limit of 7~12

Download speed is counted in kBps(Kilo Bytes per sec), so if ur Downstream speed is 256 kbps(kilo bits per sec), divide by 8 to obtain actual speed is kBps, so 256 /8=32 kBps, Incorporating losses we have to multiply it by 0.9 i.e 32*.9=28.8 kBps, if ur speed goes below 28.8 then only complain. 30 kBps, in fact ideal speed for ur plan.
Try downloading anything from Microsoft site and post d results.
U cant get both things at same time, if u r looking for speed switch to Home 500 plan, for that u've to visit ur local telephone exchange which contains NIB server. If that place is much far from ur place call BSNL Customer Service Center.

If u want to check whether ur line is capable of 8 mbps, check here

All this is simply because your browsers stores the data in cache. When it needs the same data packet, it simply gets it from your hard disk which translates into the site showing astronomical speeds.
