    Exclamation probleblems with LAN connectivity

    Hey guys
I just got the connection yesterday. I use windows vista as operating system. I got UT300R2U modem connected to ethernet. I am having the problem of connectivity when both the pc and modem are turned off. when i restart the computer the LAN shows 2 connections namely "Network" and "Unknown Network" and can't connect to the internet. Then I have to disable and re-enable the LAN connection in the Network center. Then it shows 1 connection as "Network". Then only i can connect to the internet.
Can anybody give me solutions to solve this problem?

    Unhappy

Actually it shows as 2 networks present initially and internet can't be accessed.
If I Disable one of them both gets disconnected and then in network management i got to enable LAN then it shows only one network with proper internet connectivity.

    alright
it seems there is some malfunction in network connections
make sure you have disabled windows firewall for your network connection and make sure you have deleted any older connections which you have made if any, and check your router settings in the router config page ,configure your router to pppoe mode to make always on connection and get rid of any external dialers

    Thanks for ur suggetions mate.
But I use McAfee so my windows firewall is disabled and this the first internet connection in my system. The BSNL people said the router is set to PPPoE by default and set as what u suggested.

please check your router settings again,
and tell me how the router is connected the way i suggested it is impossible it is just only configured to pppoe not other settings.like your BB username & password, the service name etc

and regarding mcafee it is nothing to do with windows firewall ,right click on your network connection and select the tab named advanced, then click settings and select off.

I don't think so. I haven't changed a thing which the BSNL people configured.
