normally files are attached and sent by email.is there any way to send folders containing files by email

compress them into one zip/rar file.

You can try the zipping programs like winzip or winrar for this function where you can actually compress as a whole folder and then can send it as an attachment. Both are the best tool available for such whole folder compression!
