    Default Less download and upload speeds...HELP...!!

    Me 'n' My friend live in the same area...we're using the same plan H500...
    but the problem is that..
    -->my friend is able to download 4.5 GB from >>TORRENTS<< 2-8 and is able to upload a maximum of 2GB

    -->where as i am able to download a max of 1.5 GB from >>TORRENTS<< and upload a max of 500MB

    y so much difference in the speeds between us??

    model:UT300R2U

    >>he is also using UTSTARCOM modem but a DIFFERENT MODEL...

    do you think is there is any problem with my modem??
    do i need to change it??

    the problem is not with your modem the speed depends upon how far you live with the telephone exchange and how many joints are there are in your telephone line till the distribution box. As joints hamper the speeds drastically and check if there is some noise or disturbance in your dialtone if it is file a complaint as this also effect your internet speed.

    yea my telephone line constantly has some or the other disturbance....i think thats the problem... should file a complaint then..thanx for the advice...

    suggest some more...

    well bsnl phone walas dont know how to connect it properly.. they messed up my connection long back.. Your telephone line must go to the splitter first .. read this for more details Prashanth Speaks-Technology and Life: Frequent Disconnection in DSL connection

    i would like to add some more point on this issue..

    >asusual check ut peers.seeds count..
    >check ur bbservice usage whethr u r getting used from 2-8AM... bcoz.. now bsnl disconnection thr connection from 5-8AM...
    >check ut port forwarding..
