Thread: i want to change my bsnl bb password

i have some big problem so want to change my bsnl bb password but how ?dont know . plz help

you can change it by login into bsnl portal--
BSNL - Broadband Account Management
the above link is for new customers only.to login you will need a 14 characters portal ID given to you by bsnl(usually local exchange people).default password for portal ID is password.

Which password u changed Usage or Broadband.
I changed and used it within 5 mins.

i dint got any portal id 4rm bb connectors. n i think that some else is using it so wat should i do to change my password plzzzzz let me know??

BSNL Portal
You need 14 digit portal usage Id and Default PW password . Get it from exchange.
You can change your UserID's PW at same site.
But don't forget to change it in modem if you are on
"Always ON" ppp/PPPoE mode. not "Bridged"

Make a call to exchange and ask for

1. Connection ID and password
2. Portal ID and password
3. Email ID and password.

u should have got a page with ur bb............
there r details of changing password.


best way is to get portal id from local exchange and log in here.

go to
BSNL Portal
go to my account and click change pass simple

if any stray laptop user wants to use my net connection what all will he need? user id? i havnt changed my default password. so that part will be easy for him.

since you mention Laptop, to get your WIFI network
the other person needs only the security WEP or WPA
of your network. If it is unsecured,
depending on signal strength, your WIFI network can be accessed.
Any number of times you change your (USERID )PW will not help

Click the WIFI icon in your Task bar.
Check view available wifi networks .
YourWLAN is secured or not ? do you need a key to connect ?

where do you see the wi fi symbol on a pc it will be seen only on a laptop na? how can i prevent any such stray use by an intruder laptop(for eg. another laptop in my building)? is there any settings in pc or bsnl portal?

If you have a Wireless LAn card either in
your Desktop or laptop, and you had
made settings for Wireless
the Icon will appear.
Confirm the modem/router/wifi model /make you use.

The link which you mentioned regarding wireless securty, is that really the procedure to secure my net connection from stray laptop? (please take no offence) I heard that there are some settings in bsnl portal.please help.

Also iam using 250 plan and have exceeded the 1gb limit. So im planning to switch to home500 plan. What will be best time of a month to apply for the plan change?
