    Question Problem in connection

    I am facing problem with my connection.Whenever I am connecting with my modem in the system log it is showing "No DNS Server Available" and Call Failed. I am using PPPoE mode for connection. Can anyone help me out how to solve this.

    As far as i know you will need to assign a static IP address if you are using a PPPoE connection in BSNL

    But i m using ip thru DHCP. Can anyone tell me the what ip what gateway and DNS server I should use for getting the connection in static mode.

    bsnl don't provide static IP to home customers.in your modem there must be some dns server setting.set it to automatic to see if it solves the problem.if it failed then you may have to manually enter the dns server addresses.here are some---
    bsnl's----218.248.240.23,218.248.240.135
    open dns(reportes by many users to be better than bsnl so try these first)--208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
