Rep Power: 2 | Just thought I will start a fresh thread in hope of finding quick and relevant answer. I have bought a new DELL laptop with Windows Vista Home Basic pre-installed. This laptop, when connected to wireless network, shows the connection as "Local access" only and does not allow me to browse the internet. (I have another old Toshiba laptop, which can connect to internet under identical conditions). The new DELL laptop however works perfectly fine if I physically connect the laptop with ADSL router with help of an ethernet cable. The connection status then shows "Local and Internet Access" and then everything is fine. This defeats the purpose of wireless capabilities of new laptop. I have the wireless modem supplied by BSNL. |
