Hey friends i have home 900 UL plan.I dont know how other users get good download speed[atleast 120kb/s]i get only 25 to 30 kb/s.I checked everything no. of peers in torrent and i use internet download manager even my modem is forword ported.Even speed test in u torrent shows download speed around 250 and upload higher around 270.But i am not getting anything of these.Please tell me how to get things correct.Modem is huwai MT882[bought 2 years ago still going strong].Is there anything wrong in setting up the internet connection?Is it corret to use pppoe or what[because nobody from bsnl came to set that up i manually set it].
Please please please help me i am getting frustrated here.

As from query,

U R getting 30KB/sec means

U should multiply 30KB/sec * 8 = 240 kbps its the speed u r getting..

In 900 UL plan 256 kbps is the maximum speed u can get...

other than this (900UL ) plan, we may get upto 256KB/sec becoz other planz having download speed upto 2MBps...


So dont confuse, whatever speed u r getting is maximum speed as of my knowlege...

I too have all the configuration just like yours but only difference is that i am in 500 c plan, which i changed from 900 unlimited recently because of slow speed in unlimited plans and now i am happy with this 500 c plan only difference is that i need to make all my downloads during nighttime!

@preetam the increase in speeds in the ul 900 plan is not available for everything.. i think somebody from pune was able to get 2mbps in the ul 900 plan, but in bangalore its still the same 256kbps..they are probably doing it area by area(increase in speed i mean).. and after its done everywhere they might officialy announce!!

in ul900 plus plan you can never get speed greater than 32kBps because the maximum permissible speed is only 256kbps!!unless and until BSNL raises the speed.

Thank you for your suggestion but my dear friend i get the speed of around 230kb/s once a while while changing my connection setting but i cant remember those settings.That is why i am asking this question.So please help me regarding this one

i have said it before unless and until BSNL raises the speed, may be in your area they have raised the speed, i think BSNL is upgrading area one by one

preetem i 2 get the same problem,my friend and i have the same plan 900ul he gets d/l speed around 200kbps and i get only 35kbps max,really i hav told this to prob to BSNL people many times they are real dumbasses
anyhow i've read in this forum that on april 1st BSNL is officially going to increase the speed of home 900ul plan.i hope thay do it

Hey that's a good news but are you sure they are not fooling us because its april 1st.If that's true then thank you in advance
