none of us here suffer from this sort of malady. It seems somebody else may be using your BB connection. So it may be worthwhile to change your password at the earliest. I don't tink BSNL has a policy of interfering with customers unless it has got something to do with some crime committed. Why don't you have a talk with your exchange people?

    Angry Worst Service of BSNL

Hi I would like to share with u all of my experiecne with Bsnl Broadband.

I have BSNL home 250 BB connection.
On 1st March My connection suddenly went down. And loged to router, noticed that it is because of Authentication failure. Retyped User name and password, but still not resolved.
Called BSNL, Customer support asked to do what all i have done earlier. And said port is disabled because of Non payment. Called exchage , they said no payment due. Again next day called customer care , asked me to do all junk things what i did previous day and said server problem , will be ready tomorrow. Called CS next day , they said port is enabled and will take one more day to get activated. mean while personnely went to excange to verfiy this and exchange person assured me withinn 2hours it will be ready, but as usuall it is not ready even after a day. I keep on calling customer care and they say these strange reasons like, phone is under shift ( i never applied for this), port disabled (no reason), Tariff plan is under change (god only help them), Server down (my friends BSNL BB works, who is next to my house), etc.

I planed to surrender my connection with BSNL

aruncse30,about that 15min entries even my records show them as 15 min entries & many other users are also reported these 15 min entries.it seems that bsnl is now calculating usage at 15 min intervals so those users who connect & start their downloads before 2AM & stops after 8AM won't have the risk of paying huge bills as only 2 entries(including 2AM & 8AM of 15 min each) will be at risk of counted in billable usage.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

OK!you said about 5AM.try this for one day.switch off your modem(schedule it) at 4Am & then wake up(schedule) & turn on the modem at 5:10AM & then see if the same thing happens.try testing the speeds with a download manager & download something from microsoft, sun microsystem(JAVA setup),softpedia(trial software) & then see the speeds.

I am also getting this low speed issue between 2-8 am. total downloads are similar to aruncse now. previously it used to be more than 4 gb per night.

I have noticed that while the downloads are between 50-90 KBps, speedtest.net showing 1800 Kbps at Newyork server!!

@ aruncse30... i think you are using the modem in always on mode...this has happened to me earlier when using always on mode, i think that modem can't handle torrent in always on mode in as good way as in bridge mode and falls to restore the connection when it falls.... Use modem in bridge mode and use rasppoe or windows dialer to establish connection and download the reconnect.exe from Download ReConnect 1.0 - Free Download Review at Shareware Connection Software Portal, No Crack Serial Number, No Key Warez... it redials the connection ASAP it is dropped..... i am using it and working perfectly for past 1 month and i am downloading 5 GB(approx) each day...

BTW.. i don't think bsnl is blocking downloads...

Try it... i believe it will work

ok.. this is a very less chance of happening.. but it could be a virus something which is rebooting your modem.. do you see the modem restarting? i mean when it restarts all lights go off and come again and link comes back...if it is so.. then shutdown or pc or just remove LAN cable from computer and see if your modem restarts or not.. if it doesnt then it could be a virus or something in your pc
