But still first think about waht other people would feel about what you say,you are in this forum to help and get help,so don't comment unnecessarily to let other people down, because ultimately it'll come back to you.You would need some solution one day and then you'll be in trouble.
Don't mind if I have said anything wrong.
My only point is that the discussion went off topic..

If you are not getting the specific information as suggested by the thread's topic then it becomes a waste of time for many members..

It will be very helpful for other members if people can correlate the actual data transferred with the various plans.. I think that the speeds consistently vary so knowing the actual data amount can help the prospective customers to chose the plan accordingly..

The question in this thread was "how much" and not how do you store your download..

Its may be a better option to start a new thread on "various options to store data" and then it will be easier for people seeking that kind of information..

If intelligent members like you use present their information in a better way than this forum can become more productive and helpful for people like me..

    3.100 pack DVD(good one)(HP) costs starting from 1200/- to 1500/- depending upon the dealer.I got 1250/100=Rs.12.50/DVD, hmm pretty cheap isn't it.lol

    Last month I downloaded around 140GB ,out of which 50 GB movies,30-50GB games,10GB softwares,10-20 GB of spare stuff like themes,wallpapers,small tools,clips(from youtube,metacafe etc),deleted some movies videos,say 20 GB,burnt 30 GB,this is an approx. calculation,so around 10 DVDs roughly in a month.
The answer has been quiet meticulous and thanks ,as now I have an option for my downloads. From ur answer u are using a single layer DVD.Is the burning for double layer the same thru Nero?

double layer burning is same as single layer burning through nero.however double layer dvd's are very costly in comparison to single layer dvd's.to give you an idea----
    Rs.70----1 double layer dvd----8.47GB
    Rs.70----7 single layer dvd's----7*4.34=30.38GB

Is it that you connect all ur hardrives at the same time by any SATA?Are there enough slots in ur PC?

Never heard of it.I bought a pack of 100 HP DVDs at 1250/-.
my suggestion ,better go for a good one atleast 1000/- per 100 pack, beacause 1 DVD=4.3 GB,so loosing 4.3 GB after 2 months of use is not an option.

@aruncse30,i mainly used WRITEX dvd's for movies backups & they have never failed me.10 DVD set costs Rs.125 but i think you may get it even cheaper if you buy a 1000 DVD pack.always buy a pack & not open dvd's as their quality is questionable.if you want even better quality buy only MOSER BAER dvd's.they are costly but their quality is best i have found so far.also always burn your DVD's one step lower than max supported writing speed shown in your burner.e.g.writex dvd gives me max. burning speed as 12X & i burn them at 8X.similarly MOSER BAER gives me 16X so i select 12X as burning speed.

Go a step further and burn your discs at the lowest speed supported,I burnt a data CD containing all the Service packs of Xp and I am using it for last 3 years. So burn at the lowest speed and get the max life.

for burning bootable CD's/DVD's this may be done but burning DVD's at lower rates takes long time.it took around 8 min to burn a full DVD at 8X.it will take 16 min at 4X & 32 min at 2X.if DVD's are meant for movies etc. i think 8X is good enough.at least my DVD's burnt at 8X are working fine for over a year now but then i always keep my DVD's in the CD carry pouch/bag.also as an added measure check the"VERIFY"option in NERO.it will take around 7 min for nero to verify a full DVD but after verification you can be sure that your dvd is burnt correctly.

I agree.Data storage, verification are very important. It takes more than 20 min for a CD to burn 702MBs of data, still I do it at the lowest speed every time , perfectionist ; can't help it.

Which DVD writer do you use ?

Last month it was about 80 GB. I have recently changed my plan from Home 500 C+ to 750 UL. With the UL the speeds are slow i.e 256 kbps. Got to leave my PC on 24/7.
I use torrents to Dl stuff ... mainly movies .. all sorts and some music. Very little of utilities and software.
Haven't tried downloading games though. May go for an EVDO card if the speeds here are good or for the 1350 plan. But that's in the future.
