Thread: Speedtest required - Bangalore to UK

My daughter is moving to Bangalore for 2 years and is trying to decide which broadband offering to go for. She will be limited to packages from BSNL. She will be downloading quite a lot from the UK so a fast and unlimited package would be ideal but prohibitively expensive. So a compromise will be necessary.

The first question is what download speeds are achievable between Bangalore and the UK. Please can someone do a SPEEDTEST.NET test from Bangalore to the UK (say the Maidenhead server) and post the result here.

For comparison a Speedtest from UK to Mumbai produces:

Ping 624mS
DL 2816kb/s
UL 260kb/s

We are hoping the UK to Bangalore link will be better than 260kb/s.

In the absence of a [url=http://www.speedtest.net] test from Bangalore can anyone please provice me with speedtest figures from anywhere in India to UK.

I am from Bangalore and having Dataone 500 plan

I tested to MaidenHead this is the results
Download - 2353 kb/s
Upload - 102 kb/s

Keep in mind speed can vary sometimes, I mostly get around the above speed

Ping ms is 336
