we all know that the timing of night unlimited for the 500 plan users in bsnl broadband is 2 am to 8 am which falls in a very odd time. Even the tata indicom or vsnl has started to offer the night time unlimited during 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. Will the bsnl too change its timing to 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. in the morning?!

No buddy. It is not possible for them. compare the tariff between bsnl and tata or any other key service provider, whereas the BSNL is the cheapest one and the speed is very good if u compare with others. I had tata broadband connection and the service is very worst. They give u the connection thru a wired cable which hangs between the government lamp posts. Something goes wrong (tree fall etc.) u are the sufferer. Then I try with sify, the same problem persists. Ultimately bsnl is the best solution. Only the disadvantage with bsnl is their helpline.

I agree with Kinig. Though I have not used Tata Broadband but I am using tata Plug to surf product. They promised the speed is upto 156Kbps but in practical I am getting 25 to 30Kbps. I complained to tata and the interesting thing is that they replied me that they promised upto 156 Kbps and not exactly 156Kbps. Here I can say that if the fact is like that then Where is the problem to Promise Upto 1000Mbps.

Really may be the time is little odd but still BSNL gives at least high speed at that time(that 6 hours) and also still no other ISP has such offer with this low rental(compare to other ISP in India)

In the current scenario this doesn't seem possible
firstly as there are no better options available as well the speed offered by BSNL is unmatched with any other ISP provider and
secondly the cost of the connection ..............

I dont think so thats possible till next year bcos every year telecom minister announces something new for bsnl (like 2mbps for all since 2007, 20% discount for Govt emp. since dec 2008)

I have used bsnl in office since Sep 2006 and i am extremely satisfied with speeds with once in a qtr downtime.

Not only its the cheapest with best speeds compared to price we pay but it is now the BEST and more cheap for for govt employees.

It is promise. Take in writing. No body give u in writing. I have gone thru all these idiot conections. When I got sify connection, they charged me 7500 bucks for wiring. But when surrendered the connection, there is no refund. Be smart buddy. Don't enteretain private key playeres. They promise, but they never perform what they say.

Now I come to plug-to-surf. This is one which totally depend on the area where u surf. Pl note that this is a wireless connection, and not wired one. Wireless connections are totally depend on their towrers. If u are little away from the tower, the speed will be little lower. BSNL has introduced EVdo which is far better than Tata or Reliance Wifi. Only the problem is roaming. U can use this connection in intra circle only. And tariff also very low if u compare to other private key providers. BSNL charges 550 pm for unlimited plan if u buy modem which costs around 3,000 plus bucks.

Yes BSNL Introduces EVDO & it is available in our telecom circle also. But my town is not covered yet but will be covered very soon. BSNL Broadband becomes available in our town from the last year only and that was also the result of a good fight.
