    Unhappy WA1003A is password protected....

    Can anyone please help me...

    I have a bsnl UL900 plan and have a WA1003A wireless router...
    i have a laptop and using net through wireless..
    a couple of days ago when i tried to connect to wireless is says it is security enabled and asking for password.. without password it is not connection to the net and cant even log into the router...
    what do i do now can anyone please help me am stuck really really bad...

    ok.. Im presuming that somebody has seriously messed up with your setup.Thats why i always say change the default password of your router.Since it suddenly asks for a password(WEP key).. it means that somebody has logged into your router and created a WEP key which you dont know so that you cant access it.Most probably you would have left your network open without any password and everybody in your locality would be using it.. never leave your network open to other..always keep a WEP key.and what that guy must have done is also changed your router password so you cant login to the router.
    the only way out is resetting your modem.just take a matchstick and insert it into the hole provided in the modem for resetting.keep it there for like 20 seconds while the modem is on.then you need to configure your modem all over again ..

    yeah buddy he is absolutely right at the back near the power button there is a reset button just hold that down with a pin for around 20secs turn it off and turn it back on the modem will be back to factory settings...then the router has to configured

    thanks for the reply...
    i did the reset thing and it worked.... i had called the BSNL people to config the modem again...

    is there any chance to crack the password? if so can any one of u guys tell how can i crack the password if this thing happenes next time...

    only way to crack a modem password is using brute force which is time consuming.easiest way is to reset.

    so you resetted the modem and configured ppoe again.. but the modem pasword still is set to the default one which is admin, so whoever messed up your router last time may do it again.. make sure you change the default password of your modem/router also add a WEP Key to its wireless settings
