i am using ppoe mode
sir i checked the summary in the router settings
before changing only tcp/ip settings and not router they showed the dns addresses diff but changing inside the router made the change showed in summary.
so sir what do u conclude from this?

hello cmkannan,
Firstly forget about the SIR ok.. We're all friends here.. If you change your DNS servers in your tcp/ip your pc will use those DNS servers itself even though some other DNS servers are mentioned in the router's summary page.Since you have defined it manually it will use the tcp/ip dns servers itself.BOth are fine. you could even set the DNS in the router and in tcp/ip set it to automatically assign DNS .. same thing!!!

well my modem gets stuck if i try to change any settings and reboot. and i'll have to take my modem to the bsnl to set it right plz hlp
