Yes. It is possible. But LAN will probably take precedence and I believe that there is no way that you can control which connection to use for a particular browsing mode.

Also two connection does not mean that you will twice the bandwidth.

you are right just4kix.LAN if connected most probably get higher priority.also at one time you can use only one connection to surf/download.the only way to simultaneously use two different net connections is by using virtualization software like VMWare which is very complex procedure not to mention that it requires at least 1GB RAM & a fast processor(at least a P4 preferable is a dual core) for smooth running.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

it is possible if u can get a USB to LAN convertor ...and insert it to ur laptop ....then u will have to LAN cards on ur machine and then u can connect using 2 dialers.....
Also with USB it will be fine but as said by just4kix LAN will take precedence.....

But i believe having to connections will not make it really fast ..i mean the connection ...cos IE will take just one connections ..and the other will not have any meaning.....
If u want to use 2 seperate then u can get a Guest OS installed on ur laptop and use this new connection to that guest OS .......and the original for ur Host OS....
If u want info regarding Guest And Host OS do let me know if u got interest in doing that.I will try to help.Cos i have Gues OS's but never configured it for a seperate connection.

i think IE or the pc in general will use the first connected device for internet..like if you have 2 LAN adapters .. both of different connections.. the connection which is first connected to the computer will get preference.. i'm not sure .. but thats mostly how it works!!

Well actually virtualization is a really nice concept .......
Now i got my plan switched to 500Home from 250 Home first thing i am going to download is a MAC OS image that runs on PearPC .....and i am going to put it on my laptop.......
Waiting for that month to end.....

Actually application testing which requires LAN i mean more than 1 machine can be really nicely achieved by virtualization.
Like using a remote database ...we can actually measure the transaction delays because of virtualization.
Thats why i like it more ......

well for remote database testing virtualisation is indeed good.i suppose the database is for some site/project you are working on.as for running MAC OS on your laptop just make sure you have enough RAM for smooth running along with a good graphics solution as MAC OS X has really nice graphics(Dock is my favourite that's why i use objectdock on windows to get the same).

Well i guess i got inough ram on my machine and will be able to allocate nearly 1 gb of it to the virtual machine.Have u tried mac os anytime?
DOCK is really amazing i have used it on my desktop many a times. But sometimes it gave me a problem with windows crashing.Hence i stopped using it...
But i got a similar functionality being placed on my iPhone. It looks really nice on the iPhone with a small lighted spot on the right bottom of the screen and u simply need to press on it and roll through the menu and those icons come from bottom and hide in the top screen .It looks really nice.
