Default Can I use my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 Cable modem for my BSNL connection?

Can I use my Scientific Atlanta DPC2100R2 Cable modem for my BSNL connection? I am supposed to get BSNL data one connection in the next month. I am currently using this modem which I purchased from Asianet who is my current cable broadband provider. Or do I have to purchase/rent the modem from BSNL again?

you cannot use cable modems with an adsl connection.. they both run on different technology.. you would have to purchase/rent the modem.. its better purchase if you are goin to stick with bsnl for a long time

So BSNL is using adsl. And that is a totally different system than cable. Now I am starting to understand some things. Earlier I was thinking all broadband systems run on the same technology.
