Start saving for it form now![]()
is it somewhere written in tarriff about the download....if not...this is just out of ignorance...thought it cannot be called for excuse...you can try pushing bsnl for waiver....no worries....
always read terms & conditions for any service you wish to take.never rely on verbal/assumed assurances.BSNL has decided to offer free trial of 15 days for new broadband customers registering their demand for broadband under any plan upto 31st March 2008.
Terms and conditions :
1.The existing wireline customers of BSNL can book for any plan of broadband and will be provided free broadband usage for first 15 days and the billing will start after completion of free period.
2.The customer will be entitled to have a free downloading/uploading limit of 0.5 GB (within free period of 15 days).
3.In case customer does not want to continue with the scheme and intimates this to the concerned field units before expiry of 15 days, the connection will be closed.
4.Customer will be free to choose any plan of his choice at the time of registering the demand with BSNL.
5.All charges, as applicable for the chosen broadband plan, shall be payable by the customer after free trial period of 15 days is over and customer decides to continue with the broadband connection.
6.Only type-I modems will be supplied free to the customer during the free trial period.
I think after the trial period is over, your conection will be deemed to be a regular one. Naturally, in that case BSNL will not charge for 9 GB
2.The customer will be entitled to have a free downloading/uploading limit of 0.5 GB (within free period of 15 days).please read the replies first before advising someone on such an important matter.if what you are saying is true then everyone will just take this 15 days trial & use it to download 240GB free in 15 days because one can download 16GB easily in a day using 2mbps.I think after the trial period is over, your conection will be deemed to be a regular one. Naturally, in that case BSNL will not charge for 9 GB
Dont worry about the bill amount...meet GM / DGM and they all can be easily met and explain about your situation. surely you will get some amount of rebate or depends upon mood and you have a valid reason, the whole can be waived...this happens in chennai and one of the ex staff of bsnl has told me....
but dont take this as a 1st option, have this as a last option....
This limit of .5 gb is for trial. Suppose after the trial is over, naturally one will be entitled to the limit as per the plan which I hope will be home 500. I stick to my stand that if the connection is continued after the trial period is over, the 9GB will not be billed. He has downloaded 9GB during the happy hours. This can be confirmed from the BSNL people themselves.
Happy hours is different
I don't agree that you will not be charged beyond .5 GB
What if after trial period you subscribe for Home 250 or Home 125 which means that you can download only 400 MB in a month and you have downloaded 9 GB
During the trial period the cap for the download limit are applicable
According to you if i have a 15 days trial period i download as much as i want and then i go to Home 500 which has a limit of 2.5 GB who will pay for the rest of the 7 GB.
This needs to be confirmed with BSNL but i think it will be charged
this says that within 15 days not any specific time period(like excluding night unlimited or anything like that) & that is why i said that usage above 0.5GB will be billable.i believe if this trial period has night unlimited then it will be mentioned in the above condition like cutomer will be entitled to have a free downloading/uploading limit of 0.5 GB(within free period of 15 days excluding night free usage if plan taken provides this).did you confirmed it from bsnl officials yourself?2.The customer will be entitled to have a free downloading/uploading limit of 0.5 GB (within free period of 15 days).
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
OK i am confused about this.i just talked to customer care at 18004241600 & the person told me that limit is 500mb but usage between 2-8AM will be free if the plan you registered for trial has it.since i don't trust bsnl customer care much if someone can get this confirmed from a bsnl official(preferably in billing/accounts department) then it can clear the doubts.also one thing i noticed is suppose the customer after registering for home 500 use 2-8AM for 13 days & download 60GB & then cancelled his trial will he get those 60GB free because there is no obligation to continue the trial & you can cancel it by asking so before 15 days.
Just now I called customercare. The below is the info.
The trial plan is entirely different. You have to specifically apply for it.
One can apply for H500 or h250 or 900Ul without going through trial.
In this case the member has specifically applied for Home500cc as per his thread. He downloads during happy hours 9 GB. Later on he finds that he is put under trial. It is the mistake of the BSNL. If the member has any proof that he he specifically applied for H500cc he has a strong case and he may not be required to pay for 9 GB. If he has specifically applied for trial(from his thread it appears that he didn't), then he has to shell out the moolah.
I request the member to consult the BSNL and confirm.
hi i am deepak.i had post this thread .i consult exchange they say that during trial one may download unlimited for free.but i dont believe them.they dont give it in written.but if i am being charged.i won,t pay as i had applied for home 500 they gave me free trial......... it,s not my fault.
yes!you must have some written proof(photocopy of application submitted for home 500C in which you didn't choose the trial.you can get it from the place where you submitted your application.just tell them that you need a photocopy to be sure about billing).also you are right about not believing the local exchange people.bills are made at bangalore & most local exchange people don't know a thing about pricing/tarrifs.
When I applied for a the connection during January 2008, I got written acknowledgement from the PUblic Relations Officer of the local exchange. By proof I meant some such things as photocopy of your application, acknowledgement etc.
I confirmed from 4 different people in BSNL they say this trial is unlimited 24hrs for 15 days. Then I confirmed from AGM marketing he said first it was decided to limit 0.5 GB but after that it was ordered from head quarter to made unlimited 24 hrs. Now if the charge for this trial period I will not pay.
that is really surprising because that means anybody can download 225GB free & then cancel his trial!!!!!!I confirmed from 4 different people in BSNL they say this trial is unlimited 24hrs for 15 days. Then I confirmed from AGM marketing he said first it was decided to limit 0.5 GB but after that it was ordered from head quarter to made unlimited 24 hrs
so whats up?
should i start downloading from now in your view.tell me about agm marketting i want to talk to them for my satisfaction.i am waiting for a satisfying reply
i can't give his name/phone number on net, you can search your own area marketting head on bsnl site and ask. scheme may be differ statewise. he is haryana marketting head. If you find any satisfactory answer please reply. i also downloaded 20gb uptill now and continue.
