    Default BSNL connection gets disconnected

Hi,am using bsnl 500c plan for 1 month.my modem is not set for auto connect.got 2 problems
1.connection gets broken every 10 minutes or so,modem shows active link all the time.am using 'reconnect' program,so don't have to dial myself,so is average download speed for torrent files doesn't go beyond 35kB/s,max speed goes even above 150kB/s.am using adsl splitter from main line itself.
2.i'm connected thro lan card.it always shows no or limited connectivity.
am a novice and not familiar with technical terms.cold some one please help??

hey , wassup??since you are certain that your telephone connections are correct, i.e. adsl splitter directly from main line and no telephones in between, then i suggest you go to the CC and request them to get your line checked..also go to http://192.168.1.1 type admin as username and password and post your SNR details(it will be given there)..
you should be getting around 150-200KB/s speed.. but the speed could vary depending on the torrent.. more seeds more speed..try downloading a file from the internet.. say some norton antivirus update or something and see if you are getting good speeds..
for the limited connectivity thingy, please go to the command prompt (Start->Run and type cmd) then type ipconfig and post results here

it says SNR 2.4dB & 26.0dB upstream and downstream respectively.

    Other thing,

upstream SNR value of 2.4db is very low.it must be above 10 or you will face frequent disconnections.

you are facing limited connectivity because you dont have any DNS server i guess.. cause you are getting an ip properly.. go to the tcp/ip properties of LOCAL AREA CONNECTION in network connections(in control panel) .. there set the DNS servers to opendns.. their ips are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220
and as whitestar said your SNR is very low.. your line is very bad and has to be checked.. cause you claim that you have done the connections properly

SNR means Signal to Noise ratio.if it is too low it means the noise will interfere with the signals carried across the line.because of this connection will not be stable & frequently disconnects.it will be checked & corrected by bsnl people.
