Angry Are they trying to fool me?

hi, I upgraded from 250 to 999 plan and notice a considerable reduction in speed. I had once downloaded a 800 MB ISO in like 2 hours but now it will take 9 hours to do this. I complained to BSNL but they say that "because we have set you free to download as much as you want, there will be reduction in speed" ....WTF!

In 250 plan you get speed upto 2 MBPS

In 999 it is upto 256 kbps

Is this true or they are playing fool-of-fool with me?

    Thank you

What the BSNL says is perfectly true! In unlimited plans subscriber are offerred lesser bandwidth. The data transfer is unlimited. Hence its obsvious that you will experience slow speed.

    BSNL is correct

you get 256 kbps for unlimited download connection

where as you get 2 Mbps for 2.5 GB limited connection

BSNL is correct. The reasoning is quite simple. If they provided unlimited plan at high speeds then all heavy downloaders will opt for such plans and hog the bandwidth. This will cause system clog. Hence they (and everybody else) have devised a strategy:

    - good speed but limited usage
    - lower speed but unlimited usage

When BB infrastructure really grows, we will see plans having high speeds and unlimited usage.

Absolutely, that bsnl is not cheating you at all. As they have mentioned about various plans very much everywhere. you should have read it and converted to it. All the limited home plans of bsnl has up to 2 mbps speed and their unlimited plan has only up to the speed of 256 kbps.

yes BSNl peoples are telling the truth......they are not cheating with you ,i also have an unlimited connection i.e. UL900 plus and in all the unlimited plans the bandwidth is limited to 256kbps so you will get download speed of about 32KB/s ( theoretical) but if you are lucky you can get more than this.

i am getting decent speeds around 30KB/s average and thats fine for as i am 24hrs downloading as i have already stated BSNL has improved the speeds of unlimited plans..........well atleast in my area!!
