Lightbulb Require Static IP in Buisness 9000!

    Hi All,

We have Buisness 9000 plan for our office and till now we're using Dynamic IP.
Now we're planing to host a Live Test server for our clients.

We're terminating ADSL router straight on Smoothwall Open Source firewall. I just wanna know how do I bind one Static IP with server which is inside the LAN !

And how many Static IPs does Bsnl Provides and how do one can implement them.

    Thanx in advance!!

well you can forward specific ports to the server and hence traffic will go to the server, business 9000 provides 1 static ip which is i think only on request..!!

there should be some kind of virtual server/port forwarding option in modem.BSNL provide one static IP.this static IP will be visible on net from outside & will be something like 117.x.x.x.your server's internal IP will be something like 192.168.x.x usually you should assign a static internal IP to your server by disabling dhcp in server's TCP/IP properties & then forward your traffic to this internal IP from modem using virtual server/port forwarding.

make sure you have opened the port in windows firewall also..to confirm whether a port is opened try this online port scanner - Online Port Scanner | Port Scan | Port Scanning | Portscan Tool

are you trying to access http://x.x.x.x (which is your server) from within your server or home network or from the internet?

From internet actually am trying to access it...for this I already have configured port forwarding in my ADSL thro Virtual server option

the URL I mentioned is basically my live static IP,

one more thing, scenario is like this ADSL modem IP - 192.168.1.1 and my server IP is 192.168.1.2, gateway 192.168.1.1 and dns is also 192.168.1.1

    thanks!
