I am part of a small organization. We have a Huawei MT841 Modem given by BSNL for our dataone broadband connection.
We have domain network with a windows 2003 server as the Primary Domain Controller. A DHCP server is also running on this server. All computers in the domain are configured to receive their IP address from this DHCP Server. DNS and Default Gateway are configured in the DHCP Server.
We wanted to share the broadband connection on the domain to selected users. How can we share the modem on the domain?
I have already tried the following:
1. Connect the Modem to our Network Switch
2. Change the IP address of the modem to add it to our domain.
3. In computers requiring internet connectivity I have done the following:
a. Add the modem as a second default gateway (first being the Win2003 server itself)
b. Add the modem as a second DNS server (first being the Win2003 server itself)
When I do this, the connection does get sharedbut the number of connection timeouts is so high that it is almost as if there is no broadband connectivity at all
.
How can this problem be solved?
Thanks to the forum for the opportunity to ask the question. Hoping for a solution soon.
Thank you.
