Plan change may take 2/3 days. You can do nothing about the speed caps. It is controlled from the servers at BSNL. The NIB (National Internet Backbone) servers are located in Bangalore. You should visit your exchange after 2/3 days if the issues is still not solved. You could also call the helpline (1-800-424-1600). I am also from Pune and can usually get through quicker if I select Marathi as the language of choice.

Default changed from UL 900 to 500 combo

hey guys i also changed from UL 900 (speed restricted to 256 kbps) to 500 C (speed upto 2Mbps) to get a higher speed..but actually they have changed the plan..but the speed hasnt changed..its still restricted to about 26-27 kbps net.
Please help. m from kolkata. i called the broadband guys. they came to my house n found a bend in the wires by the door.. they are bent on getting the wire changed for that bend(by that they mean that the bend is causing a drop of about 100kbps in my speed). What to do?

Bend in the cable u mean which cable .....the telephone line or the LAN wire?
If its the LAN wire ..then may be there can be a problem .....
but if its the telephone wire ...the one with 2 cores ...then ......check if ur phone line is working perfectly fine .....cos if ur phone line is working then ....the cable seems fine ...those guys may be fooling u ...to get some extra pay. This can be the case.Check the wire for urself.

    Sure do let us know.
Hey but one thing .....dont pay them up unless ur satisfied ....ask them to show the loss in speed being corrected by the changing of the cable.

i know bsnl personels really need a lot of more training .....these guys dont know a lot ......they are way behind all of us.
They even must not be knowing that a blog in which we are typing exists ...and ...that they can even benifit from reading here.
A sad story on their part. cant help it.

do you think they care abt it?

They don't care if we pay or not, They will just cut down the connection or do case maximum.

just a few days ago there was a news that BSNL has decided to take the services of recovery agents(like the ones used by banks & very notorious)to recover their dues.
