    Default any body using static ip under business plan 4000 or any other plan

    i want to know any body who is using static ip under business plan 4000 or any other plan since the process will be same.
    how whole setup will be done like modem/router configuartion...
    asssigning ip to pc setting gateway and dns server entry..
    if static ip being provided is a pubic then gateway should be also in same subnet..
    right now in the forum i got gateway being set as 192.168.1.1
    but it may have to change in static ip case...then that setting also to be done
    router too...
    i want to set permanent connection...not on demand...
    any help in this regard is highely appreciated..

    default gateway is the address of your modem/router usually so it doesn't matter whether IP is static or dynamic.to setup a permanant connection setup your modem in pppoe mode.here is a excellent guide by just4kix for SoHo networking.download & read it.---
