Rep Power: 2 | No it is not possible as the speed is preset on the servers which are located at the ISP and based on your connection the ISP will provide the bandwidth You can optimize your allocated bandwidth by using download accelerator which split the file in to multiple parts , but the max speed you can reach is the max speed allocated on your connection by your ISP |

Anyway, why use dial-up? a) It blocks the telephone line b) It is very slow with the max rate at 56 kbps c) It is very costly when compared with BB

Rep Power: 5 | high time you switch to broadband dude(incase you havent)..its way cheaper than dial up...many think that broadband is costlier because its faster etc etc.. but if you actually calculate you will notice that BB is a lot cheaper!! |

Rep Power: 2 | I am really surprised to hear that people still use dial-up these days. I still remember using dial-up long time back when i had to wait for minutes to load a single page to login to my email id!! By the way why don't convert to broadband, as the price is as less as Rs. 150 per month only, you will save a lot of phone bill if you use broadband than dial-up. |

| Optimize your browser. first, change to a higher version of internet explorer. Better options are to install Firefox, Google chrome or safari. Also clear the unwanted start up entries. start>run>msconfig>start up Clear unwanted icons from your desktop. Do not dump your pc with everything you get. be selective while installing softs. remove those you do not need. Disable automatic updates. you can do it manually when you need. Try to use your connection during non peak hours. use a download manager. DAP and internet downloader accelerator will be a good choice. And of course increase your ram. 1GB is recommended. atleast ensure 512MB. |
