Thread: Not able to Open internet, but light is shown Orange

Hi,
I am facing a problem in opening internet. When opening any page, i am getting Error page,saying internet page cannot be openend . I checked with modem its fine and full orange signal is shown.
Kindly let me know what need to be done. To get back internet working.

the orange light signifies that the adsl line is up which means your telephone is working and have dial-tone ,for internet there must be a green light which also glows telling the internet is available.

for making the net working please give me your modem details and how you are connected to the modem i mean whether you are connected through LAN cable or through wi-fi

go to your command prompt and type ping google.com and post results here.. it could well be a DNS problem

In my region UP East i am facin the same problem.
When enquired they said there is some problem with their servers.

Although All the lights are fine (Link & Data)
The connection is also registering and IP address is also assigned.


Today i switched to open DNS and now its working.

ALthough you are saying orange light is shown but check whether it is blinking or static. If it is blinking the connection is not perfect, you need to contact the bsnl to rectify it. Else check whether you are able to ping it, etc.
