i dont think that it will cause any problem
but you can use one for one account only

what is the point of having two modem with a single account?

you will be able to use just one modem at any given time

you cannot connect multiple modem to a single phone line

what i meant was that you can use one modem at any given time and it will work

You can configure both ADSL modems for BSNL (or for that matter any ISP). As stated in earlier posts, you can only use one at a time. There will no conflicts because BSNL does not use MAC Id to bind connections.

I think u have to assign different IP Address to each since to connection with same IP Address will conflict with each other (Windows Error).

    Ex:
    192.168.1.2
    192.168.1.3

Also windows warns for same Gateway (With my case).

I have been using two ZTE type II modem (wifi) on a single BSNL line. But the purpose is to increase the range of the network. One is installed at the the ground floor of the apartment building and the second one is connected through LAN cable and placed at another apartment some 50 meters away.

This way both provide wifi connectivity to both the apartments individually.

That makes the second one a router or a switch/hub. In fact, the one attached to your phone line is router too: only the part that does the conversion to data to send down the line is a "modem".

    You can't.

Why would you want to? If you tell us what you want to achieve, you may get a better answer.

(If you want to achieve higher bandwidth, the way to do that is to change to a more expensive plan!)

I agree. I just used the terms modem and router interchangeably.

Please don't. Please reserve "modem" for the box that is connected to your phone line
