    dude

why do you get up to do the download

this forum has so many tricks and tips that the download can be automated
You can also do a automatic restart of your system just after 2 am and another restart before 8 am

just search this forum and you will get the details

I too have very similar concern as yours. As i am with home 500 plan, i had to get up at 2 am to start my download and wake up before 8 am to switch it off. This request has been overheard by bsnl for long time and they are not planning to change at least in the near future.

i have ut300r2u modem connected through USB. so i connect directly as i switch on the modem.
so for this type of connection is there a way to schedule. please suggest. i don't mind small electricity bill or light data transfer(less than 10mb) as arun or superprash suggested.

that script would still work.. that script is meant for people who use ppoe mode.. like you.. it basically reboots your modem.. therefore reconnecting at 2 and 8am
