    Default Plz advise - modem/wirless router to use for BSNL

    Hi,

    I am in US and planning to come India. I am thinking to take BSNL 500c plan. I have decided to take modem and wireless router along with me from USA. Plz tell which model no. /company name / configuration modem and wireless router should I buy. Please be very specify w.r.t Company name /model no / configurations.

    In my opinion, you should opt for BSNL provided ADSL modem. But if you already have one or intend to purchase one, you should go with standard known brands such as Linksys or Netgear. You should buy an ADSL modem + Wireless router that works for telephony based broadband.

    Which model number shall i buy for Linksys or Netgear

    Buy any Linksys or Netgear modem that has ADSL 2+ modem and built in wi-fi router. Don't buy very expensive.

    I have gone with BSNL provided ADSL modem/router (Type I - one USB + one Ethernet) and coupled it with a wireless router. I have two wireless routers - Linksys WRT54G and Airlink 101 AR430W. Both work well. Contrary to my expectation, AR430W works better than the Linksys. My Linksys router fails to connect after 2/3 days of inactivity. I have to reset it and reconfigure it again. Maybe it is just my piece that is having this issue although I have upgraded to the latest firmware.

    Default Suggestion requested for BSNL modem

    Hi All,
    please advise me any modem for 250 plan of BSNL as I lost my modem recently. I do not want wireless support and its purely for Desktop connection. Please suggest me some modem with how to setup that.

    Go for Linksys, Model no. for same is WAG200G, It has got 4 lan ports & it is fully wifi compatible

    I just bought Linksys WAG200G for Rs.3100 in Chennai. It has ADSL modem with Wireless router....works great.

    buy a good wireless router from good brands like Linksys or Asus or netgear ....and as far as wi-fi is concerned opt for the routers which supports range N because now adays the regular A/B/G wireless technologies are obsolete now, range Next covers a lot more area and is very good in terms of performance....but for the performance you have to pay a premium
