Hello guys, I just changed into 500C plan this month. So being a newbie I have encountered some problems with my connection.
1. I mainly use utorrent for downloading movies. I wake up at 2am to start download and then go back to sleep and wake up around 7am to switch it off. For first two days it was fine, then I found that internet is diconnecting sometime during the night. I have siemens c2110 and it shows all its lights are on (meaning fully connected) but utorrent has stopped downloading. I tried to open a webpage and it too was not loading. Only way to resume is by restarting the modem(switching off and on). Any idea what might be wrong?
I tried starting at 5am to see if it was due to long duration of activity but it too had stopped by 7am. I use winXP SP2 and has patched it to increase max half open connections from 10 to 50. Still no use. Anyone know how to solve this?
2. While browsing this forum I have seen that you have to restart the connection after 2am to avail free hours. Unfortunately, I have seen this only just now and by now I have used more than 14GB this month. I usually leave modem on most of the time(9pm-8am) and start download only after 2am. Horrified I ran to check BBportal and found that BSNL has listed my usage under unbilled free night hours. That means it's free right? I know bsnl portal is slow on showing latest usages but it won't take two whole weeks in my knowledge. Should I change my connection from ppoe (I spelled right, didn't I?) to bridge type? Is it even possible? If so how?
3.I am tried of waking up to start and stop downloads. I read posts to restart the modem connection, but how do I hibernate or standby my pc using task scheduler? Also is it possible to turn on (from shutdown, standby or hibernation) a pc by task scheduler?
Anyone who knows about these things plz help. Thanks.....
