do i need to reconfigure my dataone modem (ZXDSL 831 AII) if
i format my pc,
upgrade to windows vista..
i currently use windows XP...


please also tell me what is a telephone line filter?

nope..you dont need to change anything in the modem..by telephone line filter i think you mean an adsl splitter. here's info about it DSL filter - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I observe that you use ZXDSL 831AII modem,which I also use. I don't think you have to re-configure modem if you upgrade from windows XP to Vista.

Using 831AII ,I am facing a problem. THis modem is automatically supplying IP address /DNS server to PC. I would like to use openDNS DNS servers instead of BSNL DNS servers but can not find any page to change it in modem configuration .(http:192.168.1.1)

CAn you help ??
