noise is reduced by checking & replacing faulty lines which is done by bsnl.you can only made changes in the line coming from the outside your house into your room.replace it with good qualty cable but it will not make any difference if the line is faulty before the box & in that case only bsnl can take action.

If you not having a splitter then I recommend adding a splitter also. Please note that there should only be one splitter in the circuit and that too at the first point of entry. The splitter will separate data and voice connections.

Splitter works only till some extent... it reduces hissing noise by aorund 50%... NOT TOTALLY.....
@ just4kix..... what else is the remedy to totally remove the noise...

No other remedy, I am afraid There are some good splitters and some bad ones. The circuit inside is the same; just that splitters from good/reputed companies will use better components - especially the capacitors and coils.
