Rep Power: 12 | Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. see the difference in Home 750 and Home 750plus. see details about telephone tariff. speed is 256Kbps H24 unlimited. Initially you may have to pay Installation charges ( if not waived) security Deposit, rental for Telephone "one India Plan" i think rs 180/PM and modem rent if required. Don't pay cash in any of the Bsnl Shoppe. No payment required. Go to Nearest Exchange .Contact CC and fill the application. Make extra copy and get receipt stamped. Request : In future please select correct thread or start a new thread. |

Rep Power: 2 | /****************************** Setup network 1) Select TCP/IP properties (Control Panel->Network connections->Lan or High-speed internet->Double-click->Properties) and enter as follows Set ip Address As 192.168.1.29 Subnet Mask As 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway As 192.168.1.1 Preferred DNS 61.1.96.69 Alternate DNS 61.1.96.71 2) Save settings and restart the computer. 3) Open your browser (preferably Internet Explorer ) and goto 192.168.1.1 4) Input as follows USERNAME: admin PASSOWRD: admin 5) Now goto Home->WAN Settings, (This may differ in different modems, but u will be able to see a password field and the connection type will be PPPoE) Important: before you change it, make sure you have the password! if not use a password revealer program to reveal the password. Some pages have frames, so u have to point towards the page with the password and not to the frames!! PVC Number - PVC-0 (Or default connection, in some modems you will have to delete it and then create it again!) Change Wan Type - RFC2684Bridged (Or just plain bridged) VPI/VCI - 0/35 Encap. - LLC Apply and restart the modem. 6) Now goto Control Panel-->Network Connections Create New connection-->(and a wizard will pop up) Connect to Internet(Select the radio button and click next) Setup My connection Manually(select it and click next) Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password ISP name (type any name and click next) Type in the Username and password given to you in the specified coloumns also select the other options if you want to If you want to add a shortcut of connection to desktop, check that square box and click finish. >> Installation ********************************/ Now i have some questions 1...why should i change my static ip address,in tcp/ip ..i actually use a different one 2..why should my connection require a username and password??? |

Thanks for the software for Dataone night unlimited users. But before I try this software, I have a question. IP address of my modem is stored on the modem itself and so even when my computer is switched off, the boradbans remains always connected till I switch off the modem. In such case also would this software work and will it be useful? Thanks Quote:
I am also facing the same problem of excessive billing by BSNL for bband usage during nightunlimited plan. Can you please tell me how did you resolve this issue with BSNL to get your bill revised? Thanks Last edited by dsm11; 10-03-08 at 12:52 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | ||

Rep Power: 2 | shajul, first of all great work! i didnt know such a problem existed until i read your post... here are my suggestions to make your software even more useful. 1. make the IP address changeable. 2. instead of hard coding the time (connecting at 2 AM, disconnecting it at 8 AM), let the user decide upon the time to connect and disconnect. The reasons are: a. hard coding it exactly as 2 AM is a bit risky because we cannot see BSNL's clock. so 2:00 on my computer could actually be 1:55 for BSNL which means i will be charged for the bytes the same argument can be made for the disconnection time too. and what if i want to connect at 4 AM only, eh? b. the s/w can be made more useful. ppl can use it for scheduled downloads. |

Rep Power: 0 | i used your software yesterday and i slept well .i have plan 500C at home now see the result.i lost 180 MB FROM my free 1500MB.IN KERALA they will charge you if you connect even seconds before 2AM AS you have given in documentation your s/re disconnected at 1 .57 but bsnl counted from 1.57 ,(when it was connected again ) to 2.27 thats their ,say ,one pulse or interval ,and they counted the downloaded data,i will sent the sceen shot then this problem will be obvious. i had this problem every month and when i complainted ,nothing happened .there is some problem with their internal system clock. even if you connect at sharp 2.am say IST ,you will be counted,so i used to connect at 2.05 am then no problem. there is some 2 or 3 minutes diff in their clock i lost 180 mb , surely this is not a great loss ,but still what your software claim is wrong i have a little suggestion change the time setting from 2.05 AM to 7.57 AM. This is the ' safe period' for BSNL .No problem during this time Sreejith Last edited by sreejithviswam; 10-07-08 at 02:29 AM. |

Rep Power: 12 | TRY. set your computer clock 5 or 10 minutes slow ! presume d/l till 0805/0810 ( as per correct time ) will not be counted . The usage meter reads in block of 30 minutes. (during change over time/s.???) For instance if you start at 0755 and end at 0850 your usage 0755 to 0825 will not be counted. You may get two sessions. ( this is a reported "BUG") 0755 - 0825 and 0825 -0850. test with a small file or just surf. Last edited by essbebe; 10-07-08 at 09:05 AM. |

Rep Power: 12 | Reset your computer clock late by say 7 minutes. Then when correct time is 0200 for you PGM D/L will not start it will start at 0207. When correct time is 0800 it will not end will end at 0807 ! ( usage 0800-0807 correct time will not count ). When your tariff plan is NU free 0200-0800 , if the usage meter is not programmed to note this fact and works with 30 minutes block as usual it is called a "BUG". Programmer has to change the instructions. If Tariff plan is home 500. stop usage count at 0200 restart new block at 0200 else continue . or settings to this effect. IN Airtel, my NU is not shown. |
