    Default Configuration issue

    Hi -

I got a connection in Jan and was using it on a laptop through wireless. Recently, I started using it on my desktop, ever since problems have stated. There are some sites which don't open at all. Strangely, there is no config. I just connected the LAN cable and it works for some site, while many don't. I tried to log in to 192.168.1.1 but the username 'admin' and password 'admin' don't work. I am a newbie and am not sure about the basics. Could someone please send me the exact steps, including resetting the not-currently-working password?

Needless to say the BSNL guys are still reaching my house for a config. since the past three weeks

so basically you are using pppoe mode(in which you get connected by just turning on the modem).what modem are you using?also there is a small hole in the backside usually of all modem in which you insert a pin & push the button inside & keep it pushing for 20-30 seconds while the modem is on.before doing this connect the modem to UPS so that power to modem is not interrupted even for a second otherwise your modem may get damaged.still i would suggest to post your modem name here because sometimes default password/username is not admin for many modems.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
