    Hi,

Welcome to the India Broadband Forum.

The problem you experienced is not something new. I also face the same problems - off and on and this has nothing to do with equipment at home. Most of the times the problems is either with the BSNL servers (known as BRAS) or noise over the telephone cable.

We can only hope and pray as BSNL is pretty much useless when it comes to customer support. If at all you get thru to them, they will say everything is fine at their own end and put the ball back in our court.

All I can suggest is try putting a voice/data splitter. The splitter has one input and two outputs - one goes to modem and the other to the telephone instrument. The splitter should be connected right at the entry point of the phone line from the exchage box.

I think i have seen this problem before. I used to have the same problem every 30 min. i had to restart the modem to get it working again

This is an issue with the MT882 router
There was bug in the router firmware in which if the NATing was on the NATing buffer would get full and then it would not send or receive any data. ony way to get out of this was to reset the modem which would clear the buffer and it would work fine for another 30 min

To solve this problem update your firmware of the MT882 to the latest one July 2005 after which i used the router as a modem

Config it as a PPPoE dialer and you have to manually dial to get connected

After i never saw this problem again
