Rep Power: 2 | Ethernet or Lan are card/inbuilt system of motherboard and we usually get upto 100Mbps speed on that cards{Usually}. But USB on the other hand can support upto 400Mbps data connection speed in its latest revision. But our internet connection pipe supports only 2Mbps in some cases 8Mbps, so both type of connection will work same until you get a internet connection of 100Mbps or above bandwidth. |

| Platinum Member | ethernet is better in the sense that you don't have to install anything for using modem whereas in USB mode you have to install USB Modem drivers which almost always give troubles when operating system is vista or linux. |
