Default ethernet or usb

i am using bsnl broadband 500c plan. i have connected my pc to modem using usb port. is there any difference between spee in usb conection and ethernet conection? which connection will give me high speed? pl.help me

ethernet is the high speed lan connection.. no doubt in that

Ethernet or Lan are card/inbuilt system of motherboard and we usually get upto 100Mbps speed on that cards{Usually}. But USB on the other hand can support upto 400Mbps data connection speed in its latest revision. But our internet connection pipe supports only 2Mbps in some cases 8Mbps, so both type of connection will work same until you get a internet connection of 100Mbps or above bandwidth.

ethernet is better in the sense that you don't have to install anything for using modem whereas in USB mode you have to install USB Modem drivers which almost always give troubles when operating system is vista or linux.

Yes thats correct, In USB we have to fight with some problems of installing it.

I prefer Ethernet over USB precisely because what whitestar_999 said.

i noticed that when i connect via USB i had problems wherein everything would just freeze.. this was long ago.. After that i only used the LAN interface,,
