Default Tech Support Says, WA3002G4 does not support port forwarding! Is this true?

Hi there,

It's been a month since I subscribed to dataone.

Plan: Home 500
Modem: WA3002G4
Issue: Can not access my website files through any ftp client.
Error: 500 Invalid PORT Command.
~ Could not retrieve directory listing for...

Following some of the threads here I did try to configure Virtual Server part of my router (by logging onto 192.168.1.1) But without any success.

Finally when I spoke one of the tech support agents of BSNL, she said this particular modem doesn't support port forwarding and I should switch to WA3002G1. (Kinda hard to belive!!)

Kindly enlighten me...

Thanks in advance.

hey,
you can use this link Online Port Scanner | Port Scan | Port Scanning | Portscan Tool to check if your port has been forwarded successfully..your windows firewall might be blocking the port , so make sure you open ports there as well..

these modems like nokia siemens are made on order from bsnl & maybe to stop users from using torrents etc bsnl has made them with custom/stripped down firmware so that an average user won't be able to configure advanced options using web interface.you can configure port forwarding & access all other advanced options though if you know how to use telnet to configure a modem.
