Rep Power: 2 | I have 500c plan. could U guys suggest the best browser and download manager. i presently have firefox and internet explorer(version 6). i don't have a download manager. do i need to have one. i have heard that download managers don't actually speed up downloads. they are more used for scheduled downloads. is this true? |

| Platinum Member | download managers actually try to extract the max speed possible from your connection.for example if you download using IE/firefox inbuilt downloader you will get lesser speeds than if you use some download manager to download with 8 simultaneous connections.almost always download managers can manage to download with the max speed possible for your connection & also they offer various other features too like scheduling, organizing varios links etc. Two of the most recommended download managers are---Flashget(free) & Internet Download Manager(paid). |

Rep Power: 2 | first of all i would like u to tell that internet explorer is the best browser in this world as majority of the websites in this world is programmed for internet explorer. next comes ur need for download managers.....yes u will need a download manager as download managers lets u reach the maximum speed given by ur service provider. the best download manager i prefer is the download accelerator plus............frm this download managers i get speed above 250 Kbps. |

| Platinum Member | I will suggest that you upgrade to IE7. Firefox/Mozilla are also good. But as niraj said, all websites are designed with IE in mind. Go with the browser that you like and are comfortable with - for accessing web it will not make any difference as long as you have the following: - pop-up blocking - anti-phishing filter - good antivirus Just as suggested above, go with Download Accelarator Plus for downloading.

| Platinum Member | i would suggest you should go for mozilla firefox because it is very fast in compared to IE7 .......i am very much comfortable with firefox...thats all.. @just4kix the only problem with download accelerator plus that it is not supported by some websites as some or rather i should most of the websites doesnt offer accelerated downloads ....and in some cases the download manager doesn't pops up .......the same old fashioned download box appears..what the hell..then whats the use of download manager...........download accelerator plus has given me hard time when i was using it ......but now i am rid of it and using free download manager.. |

Rep Power: 2 | GUys!!! why is everyone running after....firefox and IE...... The browser I use...is SAFARI..from apple...I think its the fastest browser...just use it to believe it. Its about 20% faster than IE.. |

| Platinum Member | SAFARI is meant to work best at MAC OS platform.on windows it does not perform as well as it does on a mac.also firefox has a large no. of addons for almost every imaginable task. many sites discourages the use of DAP & infact almost all the sites recommend IDM & flashget.especially for downloading from rapidshare as a free user or premium user IDM is the best download manager. |

| Platinum Member | not all download managers works well with premium accounts.as far as i know only IDM works best with rapidshare premium account.you just have to store your RS account username/password in IDM & then IDM will automatically use that information to download from RS.you can schedule your RS links too with no need to login into RS first by web browser.maybe IDM can work with megashare too.try it. |

| Junior Member | Firefox 3.1b1+TraceMonkey(enabled) and Safari are fastest browsers in my experience. I use IDM as download manager ,its very best. For fast browsing experience ,you can check out opera mini 4.1 on your desktop using java and microemulator. This is a trick to get high speed browsing for Dial Up users. |
