do you use a dialer to connect to the internet or does the internet work as soon as you switch on your modem?

i think your comodo firewall must be the culprit for this issue..........it must be blocking the ports

to test things out.. and to find out where the problem actually is, disable whatever firewall you have in your pc.. for the time being.. and then test.. is your dlink connected directly to your computer , or you have any other router etc in between?

in run box type cmd & then type ipconfig /all in command prompt window/terminal.maximize the black command prompt window then click anywhere on that window by mouse.after that press ALT+Prt Scrn & then open MS Paint(in accessories) & paste.then save image as JPEG(not BMP which is default).then go to any image hosting site like imageshack.us & upload your image there.you will get some links to image.paste the direct link or if you want to show your picture right here paste the "hotlink for forum(1)"link.

you might want to check "Allow Incoming Ping" and then try.. is that WAN connection "BSNL" correct?

    hi,

in airtel there is a link:
192.168.1.1/main.html , try if it works in bsnl..

then under advanced setup go to nat and Virtual Servers Setup . Then click on add and from utorrent check the port # and add it there with the ip address as 192.168.1.2

restart the web browser. It shud work.. Same thing mentioned in port forward..

OK!try this.when you set the rule for uTorrent there is a protocol option & you have selected TCP for that.see if you can select something like ALL or TCP/UDP.if not then make another rule just like the utorrent rule you have made but this time select protocol as UDP with same port.also turn off UPnP in uTorrent settings as UPnP & port forwarding will not work at same time.

    Hi,

My router is UTStarcom WA 3002 G4. When i forwarded a range say 50000 to 65000 it was not working and utorrent was showing that icon. But when i configured a single port as start and end (55000), it worked for me.

the fcukin problem is wid DLINK GLB 502t .. this modem sux big time and i believe(in fact i know) that i am not the only one facing these kinda problems with dlink.
The firmware of this dlink model is fcukin outdated and has loads of bugs in it.. even if u forward ports correctly u wont be able to get the best out of your bandwidth. The only solution of this is to use this modem in BRIDGE MODE.. try bridge mode and u`ll be able to bear the atrocities of this freakin shitty product of DLINK

No. There is no difference. Speed is controlled by ISP (BSNL in this case).

speed is surely controlled by the isp .. all i am talkin abt is the faulty firmware of dlink glb 502t which causes lots of hassles even after port forwarding .. in this case utorrent surely works better in bridge mode

your 13th entry is from 21:48PM in night to 1:25AM in night next day(total about 3 hours 40 min).are you sure you didn't left your computer & modem on connected & some download continued in that time?

Bridge mode will be some faster than PPPOE mode, because in PPPOE mode, each of your incoming and outgoing packets need to be NAT. But this is not the case for bridge mode modem. The packets will be directly forwarded to your computer without NAT. So you will see some speed increase in bridge mode.

Ok i thought if you are using Wifi, then there are chances for misuse.

If there is no billing issue by BSNL and if nothing went wrong from your end, then there are chances that

    a) DACS box might be used in the mid way of your telephone line. But it is costly

    b) Other scenario might be, i tell ....

do you keep your modem always ON ?

is ur modem wireless ?? and if its wireless have u secured the network or not ?? if its wireless someone in ur surroundin areas can screw ur bandwidth and in case it isnt wireless then someone hacked into ur modem n then stole ur username password. In the former case u can do nothing except securing ur network. In the latter case u can register a complaint in bsnl(which wont be useful anywayz)

    sharks_me -
Modem model is already discussed as Type I. But you again put questions asking for 'is ur modem wireless? and if its wireless have u secured the network or not ?? if its wireless someone in ur surroundin areas can screw ur bandwidth'

Everyone please go through full thread before posting.

could anyone explain how this exessive billing happens in non-wireless modem .
even if u know the username password i thought u need to have the exact telephone line to connect.
    i have a home pc.
i thought only if a robber enters my house and connects to net i would get charged isn't it?
can you use the username password on another telephone line to connect?
    please clarify

yes if the account is not port binded.currently port binding is in place in large/metro cities only.

nahi yaar.....i am still usin it in bridge mode.......and yes my ip address is still 192.168.1.5........
you can't use port forwarding in bridge mode because you don't have to!!!!there is no need of port forwarding in bridge mode as all ports are automatically forwarded to computer & that's why the error.

It will take some time to show a green icon when your download
and upload will start then only it will turn green( as in my case).

if you have some firewall installed on your computer make sure that you open the uTorrent port in that firewall too.by default windows firewall is enabled until you turned it off or install some other firewall.
