Exclamation Problem in reading data from DVD writer.

Guys,

Apologize for posting this thread in this section.

I got a sony DVD player last week and its writing well.

However i get ***** off while its reading data from disk.

Its not reading even if the disk has single crack.

What should i do now? I dont think its problem with writer.. I hope its due to my old system..data cable...or some thing else

Is any software there to read the data from cracked disk..

Please help me guys.

if by crack you mean a physical crack then its almost impossible for any drive to read that disc.if you mean scratch then the drive should be able to read it unless scratches are too much.

try wiping the CD with a soft cloth from center of the disc to edge of the disc direction not in circular direction.

try isobuster but remember that these tools will only work if the disc comes to a steady state after inserting into drive.

PS---did you check out the death note anime series i mentioned?

Hi ,
Well if the scratch is not deep then there is one more solution however its a bit unusual.
Place the DVD or CD on a flat surface and then using a perfume spray spray it on the DVD or CD evenly.By evenly i mean hold the spray not near the disc but it should be sufficiently far such that only the spray falls on the disc and not the drops from the perfume.
Then allow it to dry for sometime and wipe it using a soft cloth.

Well i can understand that u may think it as a method which is horrible. But it worked for me 4 times ....i have installed windows XP from a scratched disk on my machine.
I dont know how but it worked by this technique for few of my friends too.
May be its because the scratch gets covered by the perfume liquid spray.
Try it...
