| Platinum Member | if by crack you mean a physical crack then its almost impossible for any drive to read that disc.if you mean scratch then the drive should be able to read it unless scratches are too much. |

| Platinum Member | try isobuster but remember that these tools will only work if the disc comes to a steady state after inserting into drive. PS---did you check out the death note anime series i mentioned? |

Rep Power: 3 | Hi , Well if the scratch is not deep then there is one more solution however its a bit unusual. Place the DVD or CD on a flat surface and then using a perfume spray spray it on the DVD or CD evenly.By evenly i mean hold the spray not near the disc but it should be sufficiently far such that only the spray falls on the disc and not the drops from the perfume. Then allow it to dry for sometime and wipe it using a soft cloth. Well i can understand that u may think it as a method which is horrible. But it worked for me 4 times ....i have installed windows XP from a scratched disk on my machine. I dont know how but it worked by this technique for few of my friends too. May be its because the scratch gets covered by the perfume liquid spray. Try it... |
