Thread: Confused With WAN IP Address

hi there,
i used 2 broadband connections, one of mine and other of mine relative.

when i am connecting through mine BB NET.. the WaN IP i am getting is
something like this format :

59.xx.xx.xx.xx

i visted to my relative who is also using the BB Net has the following IP everytime he is connecting to net :

117.xx.xx.xx.xx

i would like to know what is the difference between these IPs..which has the faster speed. and which Plan they correspondent to?

both have the same prefix everytime they are connected to net.. i.e. 59 & 117.

confused...would like to know from your goodself.

the ip address 59.xx.xx.xx.xx is the address given by bsnl to old users.
the ip address 117.xx.xx.xx.xx is the address given by bsnl to new users.
there isn't any difference between them in terms of speed. just the numbers are different.
the only difference is the way to check usage.
Usage checking site for first type (5x.xx.xx.xx) is http://sancharnet.in/dataoneredirect.htm

and for the second type (117.xx.xx.xx) is http://bbservice.bsnl.in

i don't know much. i just came across this in shaplus website.

and both can only chk their usage using bbservice.in

so what is the difference can anybody tell me exactly?

59.x.x.x is given to old users & those new users who choose unlimited plans.new customers(those who do not have a connection before)get only 117.x.x.x for all limited plans like home 250,500 etc.

59.x.x.x is connected to NIB I & 117.x.x.x is connected to NIB II.NIB is the network through which internet sercives are provided by bsnl.NIB II consists of newer equipments.
