ONE modem,two machines...

This is a discussion on ONE modem,two machines... within the BSNL broadband forums, part of the DSL Broadband Service Providers category; alright anindya here it goes.......you just need your modem to switch to pppoe mode .........follow these steps -open your web ...

alright anindya here it goes.......you just need your modem to switch to pppoe mode .........follow these steps

-open your web browser and type 192.168.1.1 and press enter

-enter username and password ...username:admin and password: password

-now you will see the routers configuration page go to WAN settings

-edit the first connection which states something similar to this bridge_0_35
click edit

from there onwards post the screenshots here because i have a different router
so i cant help you precisely from here...

Anindya, You are stating two exactly opposite situations.

Which one do you want?

If you want to surf with one one machine at a time then you must configure the router in bridge mode and create a dialer as per skap's post (post # 9).

If you wish to surf with both machines at the same time then you must create a PPPoE setup on the ADSL modem/router.

Please find help on both methods here.
