Please let us know the following:

    a) Are you using any dialer to connect to internet?
    b) If not, then you must be connected in always on mode (PPPoE). In this case, check whether there is any time-out period for internet inactivity. In that case, you must change the option to have an always on connection.
    c) It is also possible that there is lot of noise/interference in you telephone line. You should use a splitter that separates voice and data. The splitter must be connected to the first entry point of the telephone line to your home. One output of the splitter must go to the modem and the other to your telephone instruments. Also you must not have more than one splitter in your circuit.

Changing your ADSL modem/router will not really help.

This option should be available in the PPPoE settings page ... check it up but that may not be the issue.

Is this problem appearing of late or has it always been there? If it has always been there then there is a chance that it is a timeout issue.

i have a siemens sl2_141 modem and my net is working fine 24x7x365.......my modem is always on i mean 24hrs..i aint facing any problem......

for your problem i think you should install u-torrent, add some downloads to it then run u-torrent then see your internet link whether it blink rapidly or not.sometimes i also face this type of problem but i simply start u-torrent with lots of downloads and my internet link establishes again

I am also using this SL2_141. and I face this type of problem every now and then. I asked the BSNL people they told me that when the data transfer from the machine to the server becomes zero. then the light remains off. the light will only blink when the data transfer is there.

Default How to activate both - WAN and wireless

I have a desktop as well as a laptop.
Before I was able to use internet using my desktop only. Now I am using ADSL Modem Type II - SL2_141. I have made the required configuration and can use the wireless connection using my laptop. However, my desktop LAN connection is not working now. Kindly suggest the kind of configuration i need to make so that both the connections can work at the same time.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks

    In desktop tcp/ip properties select
    "obtain IP address automatically
    In Network/LAN/ properties /TCP/IP/properties .
    Also check status/repair option.
    see
SL2_141 (Type-B) ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION

    SL2_141 ADSL MODEM (Type-B) MENU

do you use a dialer to connect to the internet or does the internet work as soon as you switch on your modem?

@http://www.indiabroadband.net/members/tanima123.html U seem to have configured the connection to work in bridged mode. Please reconfigure your modem/router to work in pppoe mode.
