the basic problem is there are 4 lights .... and one is for internet ..now it always fluctuates and sometime it goes off....when it goes off then no internet connection....please tell me if any other user is facing the same problem ..does type I modem have flawless net...
i think the type II modem has this extra internet light facility...which donot blink continuosly....

Please let us know the following:

a) Are you using any dialer to connect to internet?
b) If not, then you must be connected in always on mode (PPPoE). In this case, check whether there is any time-out period for internet inactivity. In that case, you must change the option to have an always on connection.
c) It is also possible that there is lot of noise/interference in you telephone line. You should use a splitter that separates voice and data. The splitter must be connected to the first entry point of the telephone line to your home. One output of the splitter must go to the modem and the other to your telephone instruments. Also you must not have more than one splitter in your circuit.

Changing your ADSL modem/router will not really help.

you are using PPoe mode from what you have described..is your telephone setup similar to what just4kix mentioned( 3rd point) .. no telephones before splitter

This option should be available in the PPPoE settings page ... check it up but that may not be the issue.

Is this problem appearing of late or has it always been there? If it has always been there then there is a chance that it is a timeout issue.

i have a siemens sl2_141 modem and my net is working fine 24x7x365.......my modem is always on i mean 24hrs..i aint facing any problem......

for your problem i think you should install u-torrent, add some downloads to it then run u-torrent then see your internet link whether it blink rapidly or not.sometimes i also face this type of problem but i simply start u-torrent with lots of downloads and my internet link establishes again
