    Default problem with torrent

    Hi guys,
whenever i open utorrent, the internet light in the modem stops blinking after some minutes. the torrent speed goes to 0 and i cannot open any webpages. this happens everytime with utorrent. sometimes after an hour but mostly within 10 minutes. what could be my problem. the torrent speeds are normal(100-200KB/s) before it goes to zero. the connection is also normal. but only when i open utorrent this happens. does anyone know about this. i have ut300r2u modem connected through USB in bridge mode. will changing from bridge to pppoe mode resolve the problem.

Changing to PPPoE mode will not solve the problem. This is a connection drop problem. Does this occur when not using uTorrent also?

i don't think mode is the problem.enable encryption for outgoing connections in uTorrent & then see.

Give it a try. It can't hurt. But I can't imagine why uTorrent is giving problems.

the thing is i've already downloaded 90% of nfs prostreet(3GB) and 50% of 2 games. so switching to bitcomet will be wastage of 3 night unlimited time. anyway tonight i'll try.
another topic also discusses the same problem. so i think i'm not alone.

i am not alone with this problem. i checked google and many users of torrent have this problem where their router hangs up. but the sad fact is everyone like me is complaining but non has come up with a solution. i'll try different methods and reply if i am successful.
meanwhile if u could find a solution please inform me, cause i need to download as many ps2 games before june 5th so that i could play it during june-july college holidays.

since you already have 90% of files if nothing else works you can finish the remaining download & the torrent to some other computer(some friend).copy the unfinished files to location where you set utorrent to save downloaded files in other computer & start the same torrent on that computer.

if you want to switch to bitcomet here is something i found.not sure as i have not tested it.Delete .torrent only not including the data from utorrent and download the torrent file again and open the file with bittorrent.just be sure location of downloaded files is same for bitcomet as it was for utorrent or the location where uncompleted files are present.

just start the same torrent in bitcomet in xp itself .. it`ll resume from the same place so no wastage of ur bandwidth. But for that u`ll have to specify the same location where ur downloaded files are saved right now. i`ve tried this quite a few times.

i've finally found the problem. its because that the settings i chose is too large for my modem to manage. i reduced the global connections to 200 and its stable now.
but how much global connections do u guys have? please reply.
