Thread: is 500 combo plus plan good for average downloader?

i use internet mainly for surfing 5-6 hrs a day. i only download movies. i am not a heavy downloader. i will be downloading not more than 30 gb in a month. is 2.5 gb download/upload limit enough for day surfing and night unlimited downloading

surfing 5-6 hrs a day will be good but use some firefox addon like adblock plus & noscript because if you browse graphics/multimedia intensive sites you may exceed your limit.also home500C+ is good if you want to download daily in GB's but 30Gb is not much in this plan.people who take this plan usually aim to download at least 60-70 GB or more.

thanx for u r help can you tell me what should be average daily surfing time for 500C+ so that limit is not exceeded if one browses a website with medium graphics and java scripts.
it will be of great help as that will control my monthly bill also help me to enjoy a high speed service.

well its very hard to tell because it all depends on sites.you can test by surfing these sites for 15-20 min & then look at the total packets send+received by moving your mouse over LAN/connection icon in system tray.the sum will be in bytes so divide it by 1024 to get in kilo bytes then again divide by 1024 to get the sum in MB.

can you also tell me what's the average speed of download during night unlimited period.
i am from kolkata and my exchange is 1 km from my house.

for me average download speed is around 215KBps.i can download 765MB in 1 hour using IDM with rapidshare premium account.

will it block the graphics data??

firefox is a web browser much better than internet explorer & it has various addons.just click on tools-->addons.click on get more extensions.in search type adblock plus & noscript.adblock plus stops the popups & ads while noscript blocks the java/flash scripts etc.to give you an idea when i go to youtube after installing noscript i couldn't saw the video.i have to click on noscript bar at the bottom of firefox & click on options which would show me all the blocked scripts name.i choose allow utube & then i could watch video.

noscript will block all flash applns etc..... like youtube videos, animated e cards etc..... u can enable/disable noscript for individual sites as well..... recommended for every firefox user.........
