bsnl acount management server is back on track. today i m able to access the server.![]()
its good to know that
i am using home 500 plan. my actual usage for the month of april is around 3 GB. the bbservice.bsnl.in portal shows my usage as 47 GB. how and to whom should i complain regarding this ? anybody else having the same issue ?
bobby
it is the usage for the 8am - 2am. not the usage for the free hours
bobby
if you are confirmed then ask for a check for possibilty of account hacking especially if your account is not port binded(meaning it can used on any line) & you use pppoe mode(in which you connect to net by just turning on the mode & your bsnl username/password is stored in modem & you are using default modem username/password like admin/admin).local bsnl exchange have the facilities to check how much actual data transfer takes place through a particular telephone line no matter what account is used.if this check shows your data transfer as around 3GB+your NU then it will be confirmed.in any case if hacking is the case total data transfer will be different from what is shown in portal/bill.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
my pppoe password was changed from the default password. the modem is not accessible from the wan interface. my wan ip is 117.x.x.x and the modem is ut300r2u. i think the username/password is bound to the telephone number because i was not able to authenticate with my friend's username and password.
i also read somewhere in the forum that usage details are not dependent on the username and password but on the telephone line which transfers the data
my usage details are like in a 2 minute interval it shows 7.5 GB data transferred. that is not possible in any case. the same (slight changes in total figure) repeats 7 times. that does not look like hacking.
i use firewalls in linux as well as windows and my pc is clean.
seems i have to pay a visit to the telephone exchange.
any guidelines on how to take this forward is appreciated
bobby
you should have told this in the beginning.i know 2 users who have these similar type of entries showing 6-7 GB for 2-3 minutes interval.these entries were corrected after few days in the portal.there is a very less chance of these entries making to the bill but just to be safe take a printout of those pages showing these entries.rest easy because even the bsnl BABU's knows this much that 7GB can't be downloaded in 3 minutes.my usage details are like in a 2 minute interval it shows 7.5 GB data transferred. that is not possible in any case. the same (slight changes in total figure) repeats 7 times.
cool cool... noe u r safe... as whitestar sais i also read it a guy got 40GB transfrom from
:47 sec to :47 sec....
means he downloaded 40GB in 0 sec...![]()
so should i lodge a complaint with bsnl now ? i have not received the telephone bill yet, should i wait for the bill ?
the broadband support in our area is just pathetic, to reinstate a disconnection of broadband service i had to call 10-20 officials and it took 15 days.
bobby
to be safe don't wait for bill though there is a very less chance these entries will make it to the bill.still take the printouts of these entries & meet the AO(accounts officer) & show him.he will surely understands those entries are not possible.if bill do comes wrong he will correct it without any delay.
thanks aruncse_30 and whitestar_999 for the information. i will go and meet the accounts officer in person and submit a letter to correct the usage details and change the bill accordingly.
hi
i approached the accounts officer with letter and screenshots of my usage details, he said since this is not billed as of yet, there is no need of the letter. in case if there is a dispute in the bill, then only give the letter.
i received the bill yesterday and voila !!! only fixed charges. actually i had crossed my limits of 2.5 GB and was around 2.9 GB. they have not billed for that !!! thanx BSNL
bobby
didn't i told you so.bsnl works slowly sometimes.also luck seems to favour you this time about your bill.good for you.to be safe don't wait for bill though there is a very less chance these entries will make it to the bill
