check your usage at bsnl portal by using 14characters portal ID provided to you by BSNL(usually local exchange people).check for any unaccounted transfer.also just for information whenever you surf, chat, watch online videos, play online games etc everything counts in the usage.also many software(like antivirus)&WINDOWS automatically updates which also results in data transfer.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
see in unlimited time duration, nothing is counted. You can countinue to surf and download as much you can ( i assume that your are using unlimited plan between 2 to 8 am)
can u please take a screenshot of ur portal usage of which u were charged
i meant to say that can u please post ur the page of ur internet usage. the page where ur bsnl broadband usage is shown
The first thing you should do is get your portal-id. This is a 14 char alpha-numberic code and you will be able to get it by visiting your local exchange. With this portal-id, you will be able to check the usage details here. Not only that, you will also be able to change your password on the same site.
Meanwhile, if you could also describe the breakup of the Rs. 5000/- it would be helpful for analysis. BSNL is known to make plenty of mistakes in their billing. Perhaps they have taken the whole year's billing (Home 500 is Rs. 500 pm but there is also an annual payment option of Rs. 5000/ pa). Also there could have mistakenly charged for modem, connection charges (again).

if i get the portal id and try to log in is it possible that it will be hacked
its better always to change from default password.. just dont give your portal id to anybody
i have got the portal id from bsnl now what?
Go to :-
BSNL - Broadband Account Management
Login with your portal ID and the password bsnl gave you.
Then you can change your password and view monthly usage.
Usually Bsnl does have a faulty billing system --- as in my case i had received type-I modem while i was charged for type-IV but then i got the bill rectified by visiting the local BSNL office.
while another problem arises if u have had switched ON the modem before 2 a.m then the usage is accounted for as chargeable instead of it going under the scheme of free night usage.................... this happens b'coz BSNL server takes some time i mean in some cases it take an hour in some it takes few minutes to change ur scheme from paid to free ............
hopefully this info helps .....
The first mistake can be attributed to human error. BSNL officials must have wrongly reported the info to the billing department and u were charged for it.
Regarding the switching on before the free time, only the newer subscribers are facing it. For us, the older subscribers, it is not necessary to disconnect by 2am or 8am. The free usage and overlapping usage are automatically deducted and added.![]()
go to data.bsnl.in
write ur portal i.d and password
Go In profile section if you want to change ur portal password
If you want to change ur service user i.d password
Go in my services and change ur service user password
If u find it helpful then reply.
they are deducted as in the new user's case as well but the billing of chargable units doesn't exactly stop at 2:00a.m. but it does gets stopped i mean if u had switched On ur modem at 23:30p.m. in the night n continued using it till 5:00a.m. then ur plan wuld be changed from chargable to free but not at exact 2:00a.m. but it wuld exceed 2:00a.m. like it can be 2:30a.m. or smething else after which u wuld be in the night unlimited ..........
