Default HOME 500 (or) Home UL 750 PLUS

    hi,

ive seen this HOME 500 plan,
    it says
Bandwidth (wherever technically feasible) is 256Kbps/ Upto 2Mbps
Can anyone clarify what is this upto 2Mbps...

Download/Upload Limit (GB) per month is 2.5GB
Can i download 2GB on a single day.. and rest o.5GB on the last day of month
In short, Is there any limit per day on download/upload.

And Home UL 750 PLUS says
    Speed is 256Kbps. UNLIMITED.
    which plan is suggested!!!

for a majority of users max speed is around 1.8mbps while using download manager.using torrents(good & havily seeded)you get a little less speed than a download manager but this is not always the case.

In short, Is there any limit per day on download/upload.
    no!

if you want to download 60-70GB or more with min possible time get home 500.if you only download 20-30GB per month & browse/chat a lot go for unlimited.
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

    Code:
if you want to download 60-70GB or more with min possible time get home 500.
if you only download 20-30GB per month & browse/chat a lot go for unlimited
what is this min possible time...

Do u mean to say.. HOME 500 does faster downloading than Home UL 750

you said "if u download 20-30GB per month. go for unlimited. Does thaat mean homeUL750 can download only that much.

    This is my requirement
    1. On weekdays, my office hours are 10am - 7pm. so usage is only after that.
    2. Sat, Sun - i use it a lot.
    3. I think of, uploading photos, managing blogs, watchin youtube videos, using orkut,
    4. This is for my laptop. so any suggestions for routers..

Any suggestions that suite my requirements

on 256kbps unlimited connection you can download 100MB in 1 hour.on an upto 2mbps connection with speeds around 1.8mbps you can download 760MB in 1 hour.bsnl type IV modems are also wifi routers.cost is Rs.1800 which is very reasonable.if you want it on rent cost is Rs.80 i think per month.2mbps home 500 & above plans comes with free time usage between 2-8AM in which you can easily download 4GB per day in these free 6 hours.for rest of the 18 hours limit is 2.5GB per month.

home ul 750 says unlimited which means that you can download infinite and you will pay only 750 + taxes ofcourse........but speed in this is a bit or rather i should say very slow compared to other plans

in home500 speed is blazing fast but there is a limit of 2.5GB which means in the whole month you can download 2.5GB in normal hours for rs 500 and if you exceed this limit then you will be charged per mb which is 80 pasie/mb and you can download infinite at free hours i.e. from 2-8 AM you will not be charged a single penny

i hope this will clear your doubt

    Default small question

on what basis are the taxes on the Home UL750 plan gonna be? Till last month i had Home500. and we used to get some pretty big bills. i just dont want that to happen again. so in this plan i wont be charged more than 750 to 800 bucks right???

it will cost you around Rs. 850 . But it will be constant no matter how much you download.

    In the UL750 plan, the maximum download possible is 2700 MB per day at top speed (32 kB/s x 60 x 60 x 24).

So kindly explain. We would love to hear your tricks.

Umm. Not so fast with your opinion.

There are pros and cons of each plan. What appears best to you may not be the best for others.

    Smile Home ul 750

I am using this UL 750 and from 4 months what I have experienced is:-

1)The speed i get is 25-30 kbps average on medium seeding torrents
2)30-40 kbps on html downloads that is songs,mp3,softwares etc
3)There is no limit for data transfer
4)There is no increase in speeds at any time of the day or night
5)i download about 1.1 - 1.7 GB/day from morning 9:00 am to 12:00 PM night even if the speed is 22-25 Kbps
6)If you think 750+ tax is costly you can reduce it by making an advance pay payment of 10 months internet fee and they give you 2 months of internet free.I mean if you have to pay only 10 months charge and use 12 months
7)If you go for UL 750+ you don't have to pay rental for your bsnl telephone you only have to pay for the call charges
8)If you dont want to pay the Modem charges every month you can purchase the modem(type I,type II,type III or type IV

Best for you is to take Home 500 c connection for first 6 months, within this period download as much as possible(it may be upto 600 GB).
And after that switch to ul750...............
