Exclamation how long does bsnl make one wait for username & password

i have applied for home c 500+ plan on 26th april, 2008. my modem was installed on 06th may 2008, but i havent rec the username & password till date.
i have tried to contact the bsnl office n there r of little help.
is there any way to get the username & password without waiting for another month or so.

also may i know how do they intimate the username & password.

please advise

you can guess your username & password easily.........the username will be the name after which the connection is installed if the name is too long then try the shortest form possible........and the password is the same i.e. password...

r u sure this is the way bsnl generates username & password

can u also tell me when does the billing for dataone start

am i going to biiled from the day modem was installed or from the day i was provided username & password

yeah i am pretty much sure that BSNL assigns the username and pssword like the way which i told you...........for the billing as soon as you get the modem the billing starts (i am telling you my case)......because when the modem is issued their username and password are already generated and they are ready to access and they send their ordinary lineman's to give you the modem......rest is upto you whether you wait for the technical person and give his fees for installing up or you can be smart enough to create a link from your own .......just like i did ......

may i know how u setup the dataone connection using the username & password

i am also curious to know how did u use the dataone & modem cd to create the connection to datatone & register urself.

please give me a guide or walkthrough so i can start using the dataone broadband

Thumbs up difficulty in getting connected

i am connected using ethernet lan port
i am using c2110 modem type-1
this modem has a cd software which has a bsnl step by step getting connected software to connect and register
when i try this software, it says modem not detected check connection and also i get limited connectivity message on lan icon.
link light is yellow and it blinks it is not a steady light. i have green light on ethernet port at the back of my computer.

please help

it must be steady after some blinking.if not something is wrong with your line.get your line checked by bsnl telling them about this link light problem.unless link ligkt is steady you can not connect even if you get your username/password.make sure that telephone line coming into house is directly going into splitter & before splitter there must not be any phone connected.phone/phones must be connected after the splitter.

ok now forget about that cd (better to throw that in the dustbin)..here it goes

first go to your control panel and double click on network connections,there select the lan icon which must be glowing right click on it and select properties

in the dialogue box which appears select TCP/IP line and click properties or simply double click on it..then select "use the selected address" then type this:

ip address: 12.168.1.(any number b/w 2 to 254)
subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
default gateway: 192.168.1.1
primary DNS:192.168.1.1

leave the alternate one
then click ok

now you must(should) be connected to your modem now

open any we browser and type 192.168.1.1

enter
username: admin
password: admin

then post the screenshot here which you see as i have a different router so from here i cant help you precisely without the pics

Smile still waiting for username and password

i'm not able to use connect using the guessed username & password as per ur advise.i m getting error 678 username & password invalid.
moreover i have contacted calcutta telephones. they told me to wait for another 20 days. this is not done at all.
i have been waiting for 15 days for username & password. but i'm not got any help from bsnl. i know u have told me bsnl will start me billing from day1 of getting the modem. so i'm afraid i will end up paying for service without using it.
please help me to get connected .

how many times you tried to guess your username...........and please confirm that when your billing will be started because i am telling you my case..........as when they have given you the modem they tell you to write on a paper modem recieved or something similar..........................and hows that possible that you have been issued a modem and you didnt receive your username ............darn them!!!.......in my city everybody was in a hurry to get their modems because their usernames and passwords have already been created..........can you tell me your location please......

Arrow still unable to connect

i am from kolkata. i have tried to connect the 3 usernames that they request us to give during application & the password i used was "password " as u said
but my friends tell me that the password that they were provided were alphanumeric.
bsnl officers in kolkata tell me it will take 20 days for username & password to be generated. this is really frustrating.

let me tell u i was able to login to modem configuration screen n the link light is steady from yesterday n there is something call bsnl listed in the connections in bridge mode.

please help me

password is alpha numeric what the hell man....the default password is password you can ask anybody here...i am pretty much sure about this......keep guessing the username.

"link light is steady from yesterday" what do u mean by this when the modem is given the dsl line(meaning hereby when you connect the telephone wire to the modem) the link is always steady as soon as the modem is switched on.....

what do you mean by three usernames.......can you please explain ....there is only one username,and this username is after the person who has written his/her name while applying for the connection

20 days .....this is really frustrating man .......take your college gang and pay some respect to the person in charge........lol

portal ID used to login into bsnl portal for new customers to check usage is 14 characters alphanumeric.check this with your friends.

Default Need IP Address, Username/Password for BSNL ADSL

Hey, I'm from Thane Dist. Kalyan Telecom Circle (Waliv Exchange), exactly located in Vasai(E).
1.Could you please tell me what my BSNL broadband username/password and IP address(DNS, DHCP server) would be? I'm in Home Plan250, speed is 512Kbps.
2.My concern is that the BSNL people are not turning up at my place even after 3 months booking. I want to know is the DSL internet line active through the phone line? If it's active, how do I come to know?
3. I use iBall Baton router. The ADSL light is not lit up. The LAN and Power is lit. Why is the ADSL light not lit?
4. Attached is the screen shot of my router for internet configuration. Is it correct for BSNL ADSL?

Your portal ID and password are and should not be shared. For these details, talk to your local exchange. They keep it in their records. Ask for

1. Portal ID
2. User name
3. Email ID
4. Portal password
5. Connection password

For DNS values and IP address, try this

neoextreme are you from Kolkata
In City of Kolkata dosenot take so long to giving the modem connection and the username and password. It's takes 7 to 10 dayes. I am from Kolkata SaltLake.
In SaltLake all new subscriber get their connection after fill up the form within 7 to 10 dayes.
Some times they send your user id and password by SMS to your mobile. If you fill up the form with the mobile number they will send you the user id and password by SMS.
If you are in kolkata dial 1504 for complain. They will rectify your error.

It does not "usually" take this long a time to get the username and password in Kolkata.
Please book your complaint at 1800-424-1600 OR 1500 . When prompted key in your Tel No. and opt for "if you have not received your user id and password" and collect the docket no.
If problem is not resolved , then contact your area concerned DE/Internal.

Connect your parallel telephone direct to phone junction.
You may hear a "Hiss" if BB signals are present.

Does your Telephone Bill show any BB usage charges ,

a. Set 1 : You have to enter UserID and Password , which you should get from
your exchange. ( In screen shot shown blank )

b. Set 2 :A 14 digit portal Id and Pw as password . same as above

c. Set 3 : Email address different to above two.
