Are you dialing from your desktop computer when you browse?

Do you want to browse from your desktop and PC parallely ?

Why i am asking is if you want to connect multiple machines, you need to enable PPPOE mode in your modem.

Please answer to lets us resolve your issue.

Are you dialing from your desktop computer when you browse? : Right Now.
Do you want to browse from your desktop and PC parallely ?: No...as of now I just want to SHIFT to laptop. But I want flexibility to access desktop also but not simultaneously.

It means you want to make your modem in bridge mode.

Go to Control Panel > Network Connection
On left side click "create a new connection"
In wizard, click Next > Select "connect to Internet"
Next select "Setup my connection manually"
Next select "Connect using broadband connection that requires a username and password"
Next provide some general name "BSNL Connection"
    Next enter username and password
    Click Next and Finish

Dial from this network connection "BSNL Connection".

there are two ways of connecting your laptop with your modem..
    1) through LAN
    2)through USB
If you are connecting through LAN then NO drivers are required.. If you are connecting through USB then you require drivers.. its better to connect via LAN.. its easier and much better..

as superprash2003 said you dont need any software to install when you want to connect your laptop to modem through Ethernet cable. Because all most all OS have inbuilt PPP support. You need to only configure dialup connection (which creates a PPPOE) and dial the modem.

Only incases where your OS doent support PPP, then only you need some 3rd party PPPOE software to install, configure and dial.
