Default How to share Internet in pppoe mode?

I'm facing huge problems in bridge mode ... connection keeps dissconnecting every 10 or so minutes and sometimes takes ages to connect again

The most common errors I get are Error 718 and Error 619 ... sometimes doesn't proceed beyond "Verifying Username & Password" while sometimes beyond "Connecting through WAN Miniport" .. while in Vista I get "Error 815"

Contacting BSNL isn't helping either ....... They are useless

The best option now it seems switching to PPPOE Mode ... Well, I did that successfully but am not able to surf net on my Laptop. I'm on Home 500 Plan and using DLink ADSL 2+ Modem

Connection is like this >> LAN Cord from PC goes to Modem Line, while LAN Cord of Laptop goes to PCI Slot of PCI Ethernet card installed on PC .. I could simultaneously browse net on both in bridge mode, but in pppoe only pc works, while Laptop not working despite succesfully showing LAN Connection is connected .... Do I need to make any more changes for it to work?

Also I've noticed that Speeds in utorrent are extremely slow in pppoe compared to bridge ........ why? any solutions?

What is the IP assigned to your laptop when you connect it to modem in PPPOE mode? If the PPPOE modem setup works for desktop and not for laptop means
    a) check IP whether it is same segment of modem or else assign IP address manually and check
    b) Disable Firewalls if any and check

Definetly because modem needs to do NAT in PPPOE mode, an additional job. Thats why it would be little bit slow.

    For PC, Settings are :

    IP : 192.168.1.2
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    gateway : 192.168.1.1

    Pri DNS: 208.67.222.22
    Sec DNS: 208.67.220.220

For Laptop, it is configured as "Obtain IP Automatically" & "Obtain DNS Automatically"

This settings works in Bridge ... not in PPPOE

you need to enable internet connection sharing to share the internet from that adapter.. suppose Local Area Connection(default name of adapter) is connected to your modem, you will need to share that connection.. by right clicking on LOCAL AREA CONNECTION and clicking on properties , then go to the sharing tab and enable it there.. previously you might have enabled sharing for the dialer.. now you need to change that

Sometimes I wonder we are so big idiots , we take care of most of difficult settings, but forget the most simpler ones

Thanks superprash .. it worked ... You got it spot on
LAN Sharing was not enabled, previously dialer sharing was there

    Thanks again

btw any suggestions for any improvements I can do to improve torrent speed in pppoe mode? .. I don't use any firewall other than windows firewall

you cannot do anything to improve speeds in torrents only you can do is just select the torrent which you wish to download have greater no. of seeds..thats all i can say........the greater the number of seeds the greater the spped...it is directly proportional.......
